Plug. Catch Haven live on-air today at noon at DZUP AM 1602 / online via http://dilc.upd.edu.ph.
Haven, as the band calls itself, is a group of engineering students hailing from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Pretty much like any other band, they were brought together by their interests and largely by idle times in school, the latter being spent on jamming sessions with their barkada. Ceidge Razon who also happens to be a brilliant songwriter / vocalist / musician, came up with the idea of putting up a band with the rest of the guys. During the usual sessions Nathaniel Casillan proved to be one hell of a singer and eventually became the band’s vocalist. Completing the line up is Rachelle Bulatao on percussion. Haven started out with renditions of songs making big waves in the mainstream and eventually their arsenal included originals written by the in-house composer, Ceidge Razon, and one of the group’s closest friends, Angela Herrera. The band remains clueless as to what genre their repertoire leans on. Perhaps the best way to gauge the kind of music they play is to listen to them. Despite the band’s busy schedule, they remain earnest in their intent to pursue music as one of their careers and are looking forward to the opportunities that may be opened up to them.
